MLK Event was inspiring

The Annual MLK Breakfast, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was held on Jan 20 at South Central College. The event was planned by The Faribault Diversity Coalition and the Faribault Public School Equity Team. Over 100 people joined hands in song lead by members of the Faribault High School Choir. Students presented essays on the virtues of Friendship, Love and Unity. Students also prayed for PEACE in the traditions of Native Americans, Buddhist, Bahai, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian. The Virtues Project - Faribault Steering Committee member, Kymn Anderson, shared information about the importance of following Dr. Kings advice about being known for the "content of our character." She shared how the strategies of The Virtues Project can help people develop their character through virtues. Students were also awarded monetary prizes and Virtues Cards for their award winning poems with the theme of honoring the virtues of Dr. Martin Luther King.
