Dara Feldman, a Master Facilitator for The Virtues Project, who also has amazing credentials in education, (see below) will be presenting these two workshops at South Central College.

Wednesday June 12, 2019 8 am - 11 am at South Central College – Faribault
The Language of Hope, Engagement and Well-being: Language shapes character. The way we speak and the words we use have great power to inspire or discourage. The language of virtues empowers us to act on the best within us. It is the main ingredient for creating a culture of caring. In this workshop you will learn how to:
· Use the language of virtues to build trust and increase hope, engagement, and well-being
· Utilize circles to build and strengthen relationships
· Identify and strengthen your unique character qualities and help your students to do the same
Wednesday June 12, 2019 12 noon - 3 pm at South Central College – Faribault
Beyond Coupons, Compliance and Criticism to Relationships, Resilience and Restorative Justice: Boundaries based on respect and Restorative Justice create a climate of peace, cooperation and safety in homes, schools and communities. In this workshop you will learn how to:
· Identify your triggers, replacing power struggles with cooperation and teachable moments
· Discern your own leadership style and use authority in service of learning and character development
· Co-create virtues based boundaries and class promises with your students
Dara is a passionate educator, speaker, author, coach and consultant, whose life-long goal is to transform our schools and the systems that support them into environments that embrace the love of learning with the recognition of self-worth.
Grateful to be living her passion and purpose, she is a Virtues Project Master Facilitator, the founding Board Chair of the Virtues Project International Association and spent 7 years as the Director of Education for The Virtues Project. Along with her husband, Dave, she is a co-founder of Virtues Matter, bringing the virtues to life through a suite of interactive mobiles apps and customized workshops and retreats. Dara is also an ASCD Faculty Member, Certified Jack Canfield Success Principles Trainer, Restorative Practices/Restorative Justice Instructor, Expert Consultant to Character.org, Director of Education for The “V” Channel,, Lead Trainer for The Positive Schools Center Team at the University of Maryland’s School of Social Work, Course Facilitator for the Social-Emotional Learning and Character Development Program at Rutgers University. She has the honor and privilege of creating and delivering personal, professional and organizational development around the world, inspiring INDIVIDUALS to live more authentic, joyful lives, FAMILIES to raise children of compassion and integrity, EDUCATORS to create safe, caring and high performing learning communities & LEADERS to inspire appreciation and excellence in the workplace.
Dara is the author of, The Heart of Education, Bringing Joy, Meaning and Purpose Back to Teaching and Learning. She is Nationally Board Certification in Early Childhood. Dara was honored as Disney’s 2005 Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year, Educator of the Year for the National Association for Self Esteem in 2009 and Maryland’s Mother of the Year in 2015.
