This is a little different than other unsung heros and hidden Gems -because most of our other honorees are truly behind the scenes people. But that doesn’t make the publisher of our local newspaper any less deserving.
Sam Gett has been a hero to The Virtues Project – from his early acceptance of the Virtue of the Week to his partnership with the Hidden Gem project.
The recent articles in the 2018 Profile gave new credibility and awareness to The Virtues project.
Sam may not be hidden but he has been a Gem – his leadership in the community has been notable, in his calm, caring, responsible, approach to service.
He has been the master of tact and thoughtfulness and done so much to advance truthfulness and unity in our community.
Sam has been the publisher of the Faribault Daily News for over 11 years. Many people spoke at his Hidden Gem surprise party.
